Mozambique, a country spoilt with white beautiful beaches and pristine reefs, is a definite favourite amongst divers from across the world. Mozambique can most certainly compete with other top class dive destinations and what makes this country so unique and special is that it is not over crowded by tourists and travellers. Still free from mass tourism, Mozambique offers excellent diving and its friendly communities welcome divers and visitors from around the world.
This beautiful country, which until it's independence in 1975 was a Portuguese colony rich in culture, agriculture, minerals, fisheries and tourism, is now being resurrected. Mozambique is situated on the East Coast of Southern Africa. It has a coastline of nearly 2500km and is only a hop, skip and a jump from such exotic diving destinations as the Seychelles, Madagascar and the Maldives so you can only imagine what lies in her tropical coastal waters, which offer regular sightings of pelagics including Hammerheads, Manta Rays, Whale sharks and Humpback Whales as well as sought after Harlequin Shrimp, Frogfish and Sea Horses – there is something to please everyone. The warm waters of the Indian Ocean are teeming with life and the reefs are pristine. We have over 1000 species of fish as well as Dolphins, Turtles, migrating Humpback Whales and the mythical Dugong. The list is endless, the colours of the pristine reefs, beyond description and we are still discovering uncharted reefs.
